Working within a tight schedule, Pickering provided complete design services for a Design Build project to widen ten bridges along Interstate 55 in Pike and Lincoln Counties in Mississippi, and 16 bridges along Interstate 59 in Pearl River, Lamar and Forrest Counties. These projects consisted of widening each bridge and approach roadway shoulders to meet current interstate standards. Deteriorated steel bearing assemblies were replaced with laminated elastomeric bearing pads. Steel pipe piles were used to create the bridge columns to widen an overpass, saving considerable time and money for the contractor.
