Nike planned an expansion of its North Memphis distribution center, with Pickering Firm, Inc. serving as Nike’s Architectural and Engineering firm of choice.

The project included a 1,700,000 SF expansion to an existing distribution facility on a 194-acre site. The new distribution center now totals 2,800,000 SF and is one of the largest in the world, serving Nike’s primary distribution center in North America. The facility operates 24-hours a day, every day, and includes 33 miles of conveyor belts, 96 receiving spurs and 
73 outbound doors. 

Pickering was able to achieve LEED Silver certification on this project, which resulted in water use reduction of 35% and energy cost savings of 31%.
