Pickering Firm

Pickering continues Krogering! The firm has proudly provided Kroger with architecture and engineering services since 1997 for more than 350 Kroger Company stores located in various states. One of those is the newly renovated Germantown grocery.

Pickering provided architecture and engineering services for the expansion and renovation on Farmington Blvd. in the City of Germantown. Our team of architects, as well as surveyors; civil, structural, & MEP (electrical, mechanical, plumbing/piping) engineers began work on the project in February 2014, and after several layout adjustments construction began in September 2014. The pre-existing store was expanded by 33,000 SF—going from 63,000 SF to 96,000 SF. The store’s grand opening was held this past Wednesday, August 12, 2015.

Improved features include: enhanced produce section, expanded indoor eating area, Pan Asian sushi bar, natural foods area, baby section, and pet section. New features include: a juicing bar, Starbucks, outdoor seating area, gourmet pizza, Corky’s BBQ & Ribs, Murray’s Cheese Shop, a seafood grill, beer growler section, a drive-through pharmacy, electric car charging stations, and a wine section coming in 2016.

Germantown’s Farmington store was approved for Designed to Earn the ENERGY STAR® certification. The certification recognizes the design project has met strict EPA criteria for energy efficiency.
