Medical Insurance

Employees are given the opportunity to join our comprehensive group medical insurance coverage after 30 days of employment. Medical insurance includes medical and prescription/drug coverage options.

Dental Insurance

Employees are given the opportunity to join our dental insurance coverage after 30 days of employment.

Vision Insurance

Employees are given the opportunity to join our vision insurance coverage after 30 days of employment.

Disability Insurance

Employees are provided with Short & Long Term Disability Coverage.

Life Insurance

Employees are provided with Basic Term Life Insurance coverage per company policy. Additional life insurance coverage is available.

125/Cafeteria Plan

Employees are eligible to participate in a Section 125 Cafeteria Plan, which allows insurance premiums to be payroll deducted on a pre-tax basis. The Plan also allows employees to have childcare and non-reimbursed medical expenditures to be payroll deducted on a pre-tax basis.

Vacations And Holidays

Employees are provided with one and one-half days per month starting the first month of employment. This amounts to 18 days per year total leave including holidays and vacations. After two years of employment, this leave is increased to 21 days per year. After eight years of employment, this leave is increased to 24 days per year. After 15 years of employment this leave is increased to 27 days per year.

Sick Leave

Employees are provided with one-half day per month starting the first month of employment. This amounts to 6 days per year.

E.A.P. (Employee Assistance Program)

Employees are provided access to a confidential program where trained professionals provide counseling, psychological and social work for almost any type of problem including relationship, family, marital, alcohol, drug abuse, parenting issues and many other difficult problems. All full-time employees and their dependents are eligible.

Retirement Plan

Pickering sponsors a 401(k) Retirement Plan through John Hancock Financial and matches a portion of the employee's deferral. All regular full-time employees become eligible at age 21 or on the first of the month following their date of hire.

Credit Union

Pickering employees are eligible to join Southern Security Federal Credit Union.

Continuing Education

Pickering participates in the cost of job-relevant continuing education (up to 100% of tuition) for regular full-time employees.

Professional Registration Fees

Pickering will pay for professional licenses of each person in one state. If there is a request to become registered in an additional state, the firm will pay all costs of obtaining registration.

Professional And Technical Societies

Pickering will pay dues for one professional society or organization per person.

Stock Ownership

Pickering is an employee owned firm. The opportunity to purchase company stock is available to employees by invitation of the Board of Directors.

ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan)

Pickering has an ESOP for all full-time employees. Employees become eligible at age 21 & after 1 year of continuous service. Allocations are made at the end of each fiscal year.
